Frequently asked questions
Want to ask something that's not covered here? Feel free to send it over to hello@sixandtwenty.co.uk and we'll get back to you.
- What is my wreath made of?
- All our wreaths are composed of faux flowers (sometimes called silk flowers, although silk itself hasn't been widely used for some time) made from synthetic materials like plastic. They're designed to look like real foliage, but don't require any maintenance. The exception is the wreath base itself which is real grapevine — a very hardy plant.
- Why choose a faux wreath?
- I love both real and faux floral wreaths. Real wreaths can sometimes look more natural and have a lovely smell, but due to wilting they won't last nearly as long as a faux wreath and need much more regular maintenance.
- Will my wreath be exactly as in the picture and description?
- All wreaths are handmade, so the one you receive might vary slightly from the picture. We use diameter to describe sizing, this can vary a little at different points around the wreath but we use the longest diameter we can find from leaf tip to leaf tip.
- How will my wreath arrive
- Wreaths are sent in durable cardboard boxes and wired in to prevent them moving around too much in transit. You might want to keep the box for storage.
- Which size is best for my door?
- To get the right size wreath, first think about where you're planning to hang it. Usually, it's the front door. A good rule of thumb is to aim for 15-25cm of space either side of the wreath. If in doubt, make a note of the diameter of the wreath you're looking at, and use a tape measure to test it against your door.
- How do I hang my wreath on a door?
- Our wreaths each have a jute hanging loop on the back for easy hanging. Alternatively you could hang by the wreath itself using a wreath hanger attached to your door. The wreath should be smooth and even on the back (we sometimes use faux moss to avoid having sharper bits of grapevine exposed at the back).
- How do I take care of my wreath?
- We've prepared some detailed care instructions that apply to all our wreaths.
- Why don't you deliver to Northern Ireland?
- We currently don't ship to Northern Ireland. Whilst it's part of the UK, it's also subject to the EU's very stringent GPSR regulations which, as a small handmade business, we don't have the resources and infrastructure to comply with. Etsy will soon allow us to exclude Northern Ireland from our shipping options whilst keeping the rest of the UK in; until then unfortunately any orders placed with a Northern Ireland shipping address will be cancelled.
